About Us

I offer Therapeutic Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stones Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Myofascial Release at Therapy Room Sheffield.

My aim is to ease your aches and pains and leave you feeling rebalanced, relaxed and renewed. I can work gently or more deeply depending on your preference.

Having previously taught yoga and dance for many years, in 2011 I obtained my Diploma in Thai Massage from The Sussex Thai Massage School and went on to qualify in Holistic Therapeautic massage with The Sheffield Centre For Massage Training. Since qualifying I’ve completed further training in Hot Stones massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Myofascial Release.

I have a diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology and undertake regular continued professional development. I am a member of the Complementary Therapists Association, the Northern Massage Association and the Massage Training Institute.

Here are descriptions of the types of massage I offer:

Thai Yoga Massage is a blend of massage, acupressure and applied yoga-like stretching that can leave you feeling both energised and deeply relaxed. Thai Massage takes place fully clothed on a futon mattress.

Therapeutic Massage is a relaxing oil massage. Deep tissue massage techniques may be included.

Hot Stones Massage combines therapeutic techniques with the use of heated stones. Stones have been used for thousands of years for healing, grounding and rebalancing. Hot Stones Massage feels incredibly luxurious and deeply relaxing.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a gentle yet effective technique that aims to release restrictions in the fascia. The fascia is a connective tissue that supports and protects every structure in the body. MFR is often used in the treatment of chronic pain and discomfort. MFR techniques are carried out without the use of oil. MFR is quite different from massage in that MFR techniques involve the use of gentle sustained pressure. How this feels varies from person to person and cannot be described, only experienced.

Pregnancy Massage is safe at every stage of pregnancy. As your body changes to accommodate your growing baby, massage can offer both physical and emotional support. It can be a time for you to relax and connect with your baby as well as easing the physical discomfort that can come with pregnancy.
