EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is a method of tapping with the fingers on acupuncture points while focusing on an uncomfortable feeling or memory to bring about a calming effect on the stress mechanisms of the body and brain.
Tapping also improves energy flow in the points, which promotes mental and emotional health. By bringing our attention to a distressing memory, a worry about the future, or any other challenging emotion we may be experiencing, and tapping at the same time, the brain can learn new and more helpful patterns and responses which can be life-changing and transformative.
