SHODEN                The first level in Jikiden Reiki

OKUDEN                The second level in Jikiden Reiki

SHIHAN-KAKU       The assistant teacher level in Jikiden Reiki

SHIHAN                 The teacher level in Jikiden Reiki

DAI-SHIHAN           This level is granted by Mr Yamaguchi once the
                              appropriate requirements have been fulfilled. There is no
                              seminar at this level. New Dai-Shihan can teach students
                              Shihan-kaku level.

Jikiden Reiki physical treatments last anything from 60 - 90 minutes and are generally concentrated on the head and the affected areas. Practitioners use the concept of Byosen, following the sensations in their hands that tell them which areas of the body have the most toxins at that time. For some people 1- 3 treatments are enough to help them recover from a problem and for others a course of treatments is necessary.
