A particular word I incorporate into my practice, often and always, is Tranquillity. Tranquillity is descriptive of stillness; of peaceful serenity and calm, a place where we are able to connect to ourselves.... and just be. It is the place I find, in which both aspects of my work can come together.
The therapies I now include in my practice are: Holistic Therapy(G-Touch, Bowen Fascial Release Technique, Infant Massage, Precision Reflexology, and Indian Head Massage/Indian Champissage.
Individually, these high-value therapies have been found to be very effective in reducing stress and the associated effects, and in reducing the symptoms commonly associated with chronic and/or degenerative dis-ease, which translates to as much as 75% of illness.
It is not, of course, necessary to feel unwell or ‘out of kilter’ to enjoy and appreciate holistic therapy. engaging in regular holistic healthcare, or any number of strategies that enable the relaxation response, such as: Visual Imagery, Deep Breathing, Meditation, Hypnosis, Tai Chi, Yoga or Pilates, in order to boost our physiological and emotional health; the cumulative effect being that we are then able to cope much more effectively when challenges do occur.
How we arrive at a perspective of ‘being in kilter’ with ourselves and our lives has much to do with perspective – how we view ourselves and our lives. We can’t change the difficult situations in our lives in our lives, but we can change how we experience them.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), forms the other aspect of my practice; which could perhaps be described as ‘life’ or ‘change’ management, an approach to taking care of ourselves; investing in our emotional and physiological health, and of course they are really the same; enabling a more resilient, responsive and compassionate perspective in our lives and living. Allowing us to be in a "good place", experiencing a harmonious flow and creating space to make positive changes in our lives, that otherwise may not be possible.
My Workshops and Stress/Life Management programmes have been developed from a platform of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction:
'An Introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction'
'Tranquil Body, Tranquil Mind'
